News From Epic Rock Radio

July 13, 2020 - (Kailef) - SonixCast Has Permanently Gone Offline

Epic Rock Radio's streaming provider, SonixCast, just went abruptly out of business without any advance warning. This took Epic Rock Radio's broadcast (but not our server) offline for several hours on Monday night. (Well, Monday night over here, anyhow) I was able to jury rig a temporary solution by setting up a self-hosted IceCast server, connecting the ERR sources to it, and modifying Triv's player to pull the music from that location. This is definitely a temporary solution until we find another professional stream hosting company. I am not sure how well the bandwidth of the VPS I installed IceCast onto will hold up under heavy load, so if the stream keeps cutting out out, you know why. I've tried to set up the "StreamAllOver" company that seems to have purchased what remains of SonixCast's infrastructure, but I don't know how well they will work. I'll update the news as soon as I have more info. I suggest looking at our Discord ( https://discord.gg/sPnxKZK ) for the latest news and information. -Kai
